Yep these are good tips but how many good SEO will come under this category.
Now a days even 14 years old kid started to call themselves as SEO expert. They just do some forum posting, blog commenting. Read few articles and acquired SEO degree for themselves. Its really funny mate ... I would go with their website worth and price they are charging from a client.

There are so many scam is going on in this field that recognising a genuine SEO is a tough task. That's why I gave small job first to a new SEO I want to see his/her commitments and pattern.
Rite now I am using three SEO to do for me. As relying on one SEO is not at all a good idea.

Well before assigning a big project to any one you should provide them some small budgeted assignments and can get their work pattern, accuracy, turn around time and many other things related to the job.
I am sure within two to three assignment you will be able to know what kind of SEO they are and whether they will be able to provide the quality service or not.

I'd prefer to outsource my rountine blogging work like articles writing because I could see what I'm getting. With SEO, it's a little different. Moreover these so called SEO experts cost an arm and a leg and I don't think I'll ever place my thrust completely with someone I don't know. I don't think I'll ever outsource any SEO work out to anyone.

Yep, very useful tips!... Actually, outsourcing the whole SEO campaign is a big disadvantage. The project progress is not totally transparent, you try to wonder of the worth and service you had put in.
Honestly, I'd prefer to break down my SEO work and outsourcing, this goes to my advantage that I have a very good background of this field. Dividing your work to content writing, link building and on page SEO gives me more control of my work progress and output.
