1. Put together a list of qualified SEO firms. Don't settle for the first ones you find. Ask colleagues for recommendations and talk to previous customers at each firm to determine how proficient and experienced they are. Some important questions you should ask potential SEO firms include:

* How long have you been in business?
* Do you specialize in any specific industries/niches?
* What kind of rankings have you achieved for your past clients?

2. Put together a Request for Proposal (RFP) that outlines your goals and expectations. Contact the firms you are interested in by sending out this RFP. Include terms and agreements in the RFP as well.

5. SEO is complex so before you decide who to outsource to, find out what kind of customer support each firm offers. It's important to learn what customer support services are included in your package and which ones are charged as extra. Sometimes SEO companies may have a limit to the number of hours you can speak with a customer service representative on the telephone or the number of emails you can send. It's essential to have access to qualified technicians who are informed about your particular project and thus can answer any specific questions you may have.

Now that you are armed with this information, use plenty of care and caution when outsourcing SEO work. There are plenty of reputable SEO companies out there but you need to shop around before you make a decision. Choose a company that will accommodate your specific needs and customize a plan based on very careful considerations. Yep these are good tips but how many good SEO will come under this category.

Now a days even 14 years old kid started to call themselves as SEO expert. They just do some forum posting, blog commenting. Read few articles and acquired SEO degree for themselves.

Its really funny mate ... I would go with their website worth and price they are charging from a client.

There are so many scam is going on in this field that recognising a genuine SEO is a tough task. That's why I gave small job first to a new SEO I want to see his/her commitments and pattern.

Rite now I am using three SEO to do for me. As relying on one SEO is not at all a good idea.

3 SEO at a time ... seems to me that you want to reach at top quickly. Just want to let you know that be careful and check their pattern. Sometime these SEO try to make impression and hence can use Black Hat SEO as well.

So keep asking them weekly reports.

For this kind of service we would go with some strong recommendation. As in our group if someone have applied their service. I generally hire with a specific target like for what he/she will charge if I want my site should come within 100.

In this way we will able to check their ability as well.

Well before assigning a big project to any one you should provide them some small budgeted assignments and can get their work pattern, accuracy, turn around time and many other things related to the job.

I am sure within two to three assignment you will be able to know what kind of SEO they are and whether they will be able to provide the quality service or not.

I'd prefer to outsource my rountine blogging work like articles writing because I could see what I'm getting. With SEO, it's a little different. Moreover these so called SEO experts cost an arm and a leg and I don't think I'll ever place my thrust completely with someone I don't know. I don't think I'll ever outsource any SEO work out to anyone.

Yep, very useful tips!... Actually, outsourcing the whole SEO campaign is a big disadvantage. The project progress is not totally transparent, you try to wonder of the worth and service you had put in.

Honestly, I'd prefer to break down my SEO work and outsourcing, this goes to my advantage that I have a very good background of this field. Dividing your work to content writing, link building and on page SEO gives me more control of my work progress and output.
